Pastor Derrick
Pastor Derrick Golden is passionate about seeing people live balanced, sober and settled lives ready to unashamedly worship God. His personality and deep concern for people attracts those from all walks of life. Pastor Derrick gave his life to the Lord and began the journey that ultimately led him to purpose and destiny beginning at the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Upon graduating, Northeast Senior High in 1987, he received an athletic scholarship to play football at the University of Miami. After college, Pastor Derrick moved to Dallas, Texas where he met and married Ilya, his wife of 13 years. They are the parents of LeDerrianne, Maliek and Kyndal Golden, all of which are individually incredible talents and marked for ministry.
Pastor Derrick and Ilya were led to move to the city of McKinney in August of 2005. On August 12, 2007, they launched The New Covenant Fellowship Church of McKinney and had its first service in their home. There were 34 people in attendance. Due to the rapid growth in attendance they moved the services to a local elementary school in the area.
The New Covenant Fellowship Church of McKinney is a church, with eager hearts, ready to encourage, edify and equip God’s people through His word. Empowering them to duplicate the process.
